Latest Update

Hi all,

The committee has again met for this month, below are the headlines.

Playing - as previously communicated we are incredibly disappointed to have had to fold the fourth team and going forward this leaves us with quite a shortfall in match fees. The club are exploring opportunities to minimise this loss.

Equipment/Ground - the club is purchasing a new strimmer on order to maintain the edges around the ground and make Bassett Avenue and even nicer venue for cricket. The working party will be again be taking place on Sunday 7th July to help with the upkeep of the ground.

First aid course Last chance! The course is this coming Monday 24th June 18:00-21:00 and is open to all club members for free and friends and family for 'a donation' (suggested donation £15-£20). The course is valid for 3 years, if interested please contact countesthorpecricketclub@outlook.com.

Clubhouse - we continue to improve facilities after the installation of the dart board last month which has had a good workout (along with the wall...). There will be a new sign for the men's toilets being added shortly.

Socials - if anyone would like to volunteer to help run social events going forward please let Meggo know as help would be great fully received. Date for your diary - President's Day will be on Sunday 25th August.

Centenary - next year is a big year in the club's history, and will mark 100 years of Countesthorpe Cricket Club! (Previously Countesthorpe Wanderers). As such if you like to help us organise the celebrations and commemorations please let us know.

Club Person of the Month

This month's Club person of the month goes to Richard Hopkin. Rich has been at all of the ladies games this month, he's scored, learnt how to use the electronic scoreboard, umpired, coached and supported them every week. He's also been to the socials, given up his day off to umpire with Suzanne when they weren't going to play that weekend and helped the threes with a good performance with the bat. Well done Rich.

If you have any ideas to improve the club and it's facilities or are able to volunteer some time no matter how big or small please contact a member of the committee.

Thanks, Meggo
