Here is the round up of all thing Niffy for this month...
Firstly, we discussed the successes of winter training. Numbers have been high we've recruited at least one new player to the first team and the junior sessions have been very productive. Thank you to all the coaches, CEL sports and Kate for organising it all.
We have made a real effort this winter to bring the costs of cricket down. Now, while we can't do much about the cost of living and the prices that we have to pay for gas, electric, grass seed, paint, gravel etc. we are trying bring money in from other sources to offset those costs. Here are some things that could help us help you and others!
The ground work has been started and overall, we are in a very healthy situation. Thanks to all those who helped a few weeks ago, hopefully the same again for this weekend and getting Gilmorton ready for the season.
Our facilities are also looking good, the carpet has been cleaned by the amazing Kate Measures and Waddo has been busy oranising for new beers on tap. This has allowed us to keep prices below 'pub prices' and hopefully encourage people to stay after a game/training and enjoy an Atlantic, Pravha, Cold River Cider OR an exciting new exclusive... 'Niffy Ale'. We have also removed the unused fonts, tidied the bar and got new bar stools.
We will be scoring all of our games this season on the play cricket app. This will help other teams to see how we are doing. Imagine you are on holiday missing a game of cricket (cardinal sin!) you can follow live from any beach with an internet connection! In addition, we will be launching our Fantasy Cricket competition, more details to follow.
Finally, this month's club person of the month is Kate. Thank you for all that you do Kate, this month alone she has helped clean the club house, organise the winter nets, coordinate the summer coaching, donated the bar stools and cleaned the bar.
